OUR CURRICULUM:
What we'll be doing together.
Day 1: Foundations
Learning the social justice framework
Surrendering to the process of embodied learning
Coming together as a community in which all are welcome, respected and valued
Day 2: Solidarity Building
Learning to collaborate cross-culturally and share responsibility
Establishing trust and confidence in ourselves and each other
Using drama games to establish equitable community dynamics
Day 3: Power
Learning Image Theatre
Unpacking the three spheres of influence and authority
Using individual, social and structural power to intervene against oppression
Day 4: Internal Oppressions
Learning to unlearn biases which have become embedded within us
Using Cops in the Head to identify internalized oppressions
Using Rainbow of Desire to confront internalized oppressions
Day 4: External Oppressions
Learning to unlearn inequities that are embedded within society
Using Forum Theatre to identify and act against micro and macro aggressions
Relying on each other to strengthen our confidence to engage in social justice practice
Day 5: Social Justice Practice
Learning to use Theatre of the Oppressed to identify shared experiences and common causes
Using the Spiral Model as an equitable method of planning for collective action
Using Intentional Dialogue to ensure equity in
